High level speakers at the EDHEC Institutional Days

The EDHEC Institutional Days at the CNIT conference centre in Paris-La Défense on June 12 and 13 next will present the applied research conducted by the EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre and discuss its results with the institutional investor and fund manager communities. Several renowned institutional investors from leading European and international organisations will be taking part in the conference.

On the occasion of the ETF Summit on the first day of the conference, Nicolas Sobczak, Chief Investment Officer of the Fonds de Réserve pour les Retraites, the organization created to consolidate the pension system in France from 2020; and Wolfgang Weber, Director Asset Management & Pensions at Sanofi-Aventis, one of the world leaders of the pharmaceutical industry, will be participating in the roundtable. The ETF Summit will aim to provide practitioners with the outputs of EDHEC's research in the fields of risk management and asset allocation supported by Exchange Traded Funds.

During the presentation of the EDHEC European Investment Practices Survey, Éric Breval, Managing Director of Fonds de Compensations AVS-AHV, the main pillar of the Swiss social providence system; Gian Luigi Costanzo, Chief Executive Officer at Generali Investments; and Vincent Ribuot, Chief Investment Officer of the French Union Mutualiste Retraite, will be discussing the conclusions with EDHEC's experts. The EDHEC European Investment Practices Survey will measure the gap between state-of-the-art investment management techniques and current industry practices.

The second day of the conference with the EDHEC-Wall Street Journal Europe Institutional Investor Forum will include the participation of: Jaap Maassen, Director of Pensions and Member of the Executive Board of ABP Investments, the pension fund for employers and employees of Dutch government services; Antoine Lissowski, Chief Financial Officer of CNP Assurances, the leading personal insurance company in France; Gumersindo Oliveros, Director of Pension Plan and Endowments at the World Bank; and Wolf Thiel, Chairman of the Managing Board of VBL, the largest public sector pension fund in Germany. The EDHEC-Wall Street Journal Europe Institutional Investor Forum will discuss the impact of prudential regulations on investors' ability to meet their long-term investment objectives.

The two Pension Fund Conference stream sessions will also welcome several renowned institutional investors. During the session on the impact of accounting and regulatory constraints on the asset and liability management of European pension funds, Christian Böhm, Chief Executive Officer of the Austrian pension funds APK; Jean-Claude Guimiot, Chief Investment Officer of Groupe AGRICA, the leading group for pensions in the agricultural industry in France; and Fons Lute, Chief Investment Officer of Blue Sky Group; will participate in the roundtable. The other stream session entitled Dynamic risk budgeting in asset-liability management will notably welcome Joël Prohin, vice-president of the French Association of Asset-Liability Managers and Henrik Olejasz Larsen, Chief Investment Officer of Sampension (Denmark). In addition, the Pension Fund Conference will unveil the results of EDHEC's research in pension fund management and discuss a variety of issues relating to investment processes and techniques.
