COURSE DESCRIPTION

ORIENTATION SEMINAR (2 weeks)

A two-week seminar to help you get acquainted with EDHEC Business School, the curriculum, the faculty and your colleagues. You will learn about your ideal team role, about how Learning Teams work and about your personal learning style.  During the Orientation Seminar, participants will develop an understanding of the essential principles of individual and team effectiveness through a process of coaching, experimentation and reflection. A personality test will enable participants to form coherent work groups. A voluntary two-day excursion to the mountains provides a unique setting for team-building and encourages reflection on the coming year.

NEW VISION - NEW AMBITIONS (3 weeks)

The first module invites you to stand back and consider the evolution of the world to help situate yourself as a manager. This contemplation is necessary as it encourages you to reconsider your way of thinking and understand how the traditional ways only allow a part of the truth to be seen. It also helps you think about the context in which companies operate today, how they have become major players in today's society and how they have an increased responsibility. Finally, it allows you to analyse your personal situation, consider what you want from life and what you expect from your MBA. The module concludes with a very personal reflection on the reason for being, the final end and discernment.

CLASSES:
Critical thinking , Patterns of knowledge, Criminal risk management, Legal context, Complexity management, The manager as sensemaker, Discernment and final end

INTEGRATED MODULES (5 x 3 weeks)

An innovation in the Theseus-EDHEC MBA is the study of core management subjects in an integrated learning process. Each module consists of three management subjects that are taught simultaneously. In a complex world, the most effective managers are those able to reason globally and not step by step.
Problems are not confined to one part of management and these integrated modules provide the ideal means of practice. A transversal case study closes the module and allows participants to understand the interaction between management disciplines.

CLASSES:

Marketing, Accounting, Managing and leading people, Finance, Microeconomics, Organisation theory, Management information systems, Statistics and business research, Industry and competitive analysis, Project management, Advanced strategy, Advanced finance, Macroeconomics & Geopolitics, New business venturing, International legal risk management

GLOBAL BUSINESS MODULE (2 x 1 week)

2 week-long trips to countries playing a crucial role in tomorrow's economy, combining company visits, classes, cultural visits and meetings with local players and alumni. Past countries include Poland, Turkey and India. These study trips are a key element in the process of personal development.
(N.B. All formalities and expenses are covered by EDHEC).

BUSINESS SIMULATION (1 week)

Participants apply their acquired knowledge to the management of a virtual company operating in a complex multinational environment, competing with each other in company teams.

KNOWLEDGE STREAMS (5 x 1 week

Knowledge streams are in-depth seminars on current multi-disciplinary issues taught by a faculty drawn from academia, business and society. They allow participants to develop their own expertise on the subject by exposing them to diverse opinion from thought leaders.

CLASSES:
Leadership, Innovation management, The learning organisation, Philosophy, Strategic information systems

CONSULTING PROJECT (8 weeks)

Under the supervision of a faculty member, team consulting projects are carried out at clients' sites worldwide. Participants apply the skills theyhave acquired to a strategic customer issue.
